Leak Detection

We have added a leak detection service that will give us vital information about any pool.  The leak detection tool that we use is from Anderson Manufacturing Company and it gives us the opportunity to answer a very common question:

How can I be sure that the pool I’m getting isn’t leaking in the underground plumbing?

The tool that our inspector will be using has the capability of deciphering the difference between water loss and evaporation.  The tool uses sensitve electronic sensors and can determine minute losses as little as 1/1000 of an inch per day.  The test takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes from start to finish and is not invasive on the pool or the plumbing.

Requirements for Running Test  ——————————————————————

The water in the pool must be clean and free of debris. It must not be actively raining.  Yes the machine is so sensitive that it can detect water being added too.

It is preferred that the pool be opened and running.  It is possible to run the test on a closed/winterized pool but it will only give us information about the structure of the pool not the plumbing.  Having the pool open and running gives the oportunity to test both.

Cost  ———————————————————————————-

Since this test does add additional labor and time to our standard inspection, there is an additional cost.  We recommend bundling the test with our standard inspection.  It is the most cost effective way to find out the condition of your pool.  By bundling the test with the standard inspection, the cost will only increase less than $100.00.  A nominal fee considering a pressure test from a swimming pool repair company starts at approximately $250.00 and can sometimes be invasive on the plumbing.
